White Collar Boxing Kings Lynn
Spread the love

From next month, Heroes for 6 Minutes will be in King’s Lynn to run an eight-week training course to prepare inexperienced boxers for a three-round charity match.

Described as ‘white collar boxing,’ the initiative will be raising funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a North Lynn-based charity which supports children who have lost a parent while serving in the British armed forces.

Robbie Owen, who founded   Heroes for 6 Minutes in 2015, said: “This event is for people who have never boxed before and from all walks of life.

“They’re given the chance to come out to their own music, do the big ring walk and then box in front of a live audience.

“This really is a once in a lifetime experience.”

The training will be provided for free at Motiv8 Exercise and Fitness, based next door to Scotty’s on the North Lynn Industrial Estate.

At the end of the programme, participants will be matched with another in the group for a charity fight at Lynn Corn Exchange on Sunday, April 8.

Founder of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, Nikki Scott said: “We can’t wait to see the people of Lynn take up the challenge – it’s an opportunity to get fit in the early months of the year and a fantastic way to raise money.

“We’re hugely grateful to Robbie and Mark Flowers at Motiv8 for coming together to make this happen and for raising vital funds for our members.”
